Shocking most of time like today you ring up and you are kept on hold message saying you are number one in the queue yet you get through to nobody just left hanging on the phone for ages with no choice in the end but to end the call needs improving

I spent two weeks in The Heath, Cardiff, for emergency treatment. I came to Pencoed to stay with a friend to recover. I relapsed again. My friend rang The New Surgery in Pencoed. A Doctor came immediately and referred me without delay to The Princess of Wales - where for a further two and a half weeks I received excellent treatment. Since then I have received excellent, and I mean excellent, treatment from all the staff at The New Surgery, from Admin. Staff, nurses and Doctors. I can compare this with a Surgery I had in The Vale for thirty years, - and The New Surgery is far better. I have always believed that if you treat people reasonably, they will respond in a similar way.

Certainly, if you ring early in the morning, you will get delays, that's true of all Surgeries , but if you hang on, you will get an appointment that day - not like my former Surgery.I only have thanks to all the staff at The New Surgery. If I need them, they're there.

This is surely the most inefficient surgery in Wales. All I needed was to know if my vaccinations were up to date for a visit to Morocco. The procedure that they insist upon is that you make an appointment with the nurse who will then tell you if you need any jabs. Then make another appointment to actually get the injections if required. All this information should be available by phone so that just one appointment to receive the treatment. This time wasting process making extra visits to the surgery needs to be analysed logically. Roger Grigg
